Clean Out the Cabinets: Unwanted Prescription Drug Dropoff May 10

The Rockland Sheriff's Office holds bimonthly events to urge residents to dispose of old prescription drugs safely.

The Rockland County Sheriff's Office offers residents a bi-monthly chance to get outdated, unused and unwanted medications substances out of the house and safely thrown away.

The next disposal date is May 10, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Rockland County Sheriff's Office.

When: 10AM-2PM Saturday
Where: 55 New Hempstead Road
New City, NY 10956

Can't make it then? No problem. The Sheriff's Office has installed a secure drop box in the front lobby for 24/7 collection from Rockland County residents in addition to the scheduled event conducted on the second Saturday of each month.

Did you know? Health and safety officials used to recommend people flush unwanted medications down the toilet. Then tests showed how much prescription medication was in the water.
