Pearl River Gathers in Frozen Moment for Bohovesky
Classmates, friends and family of Paula Bohovesky, who was murdered in 1980, gathered to honor and remember her life and to protest the potential parole of the two men convicted of her murder.
More than 100 people gathered in Pearl River's Braunsdorf Park Saturday to remember the life of Paula Bohovesky a short distance from where she was murdered in 1980.
Bohovesky's former classmates and friends organized the freeze mob in her honor. The event was also meant as a protest against the efforts of the two men convicted of killing Bohovesky to get parole. Both Richard LaBarbera and Robert McCain were sentenced to 25-years-to-life and are now up for parole every two years. LaBarbera was denied in May. McCain is expected to have a hearing the week of Jan. 16 after two delays.
