Ex-Pearl River Man Indicted on Child Porn Charges

D.A.: Illicit files found on computer.

A former Pearl River resident has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury in New City on child pornography charges.

District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said an investigation by the Rockland County Sheriff's Department Computer Crime Task Force led to the discovery of multiple files containing child pornography of a computer belonging to Ashley Quiroa, 32, of 5 Camelot Drive, Goshen.

Quiroa, a former resident of Pascack Road in Pearl River, has been charged with 29 counts of possessing an obscene performance by a child.

Zugibe said Quiroa is accused of downloading the files via a file sharing service.

In December, an investigation by the task force in conjunction with local police departments led to the arrests of 10 adults and a juvenile on similar charges. The individuals charged in that series of investigations were not part of any group, but were accused of acting separately.
