Fatal Car Crash in Clarkstown Under Investigation

Ramapo man killed on NYS Thruway.

A fatal car crash on I-87 in Clarkstown early Monday morning remains under investigation, with state police searching for clues as to what caused the accident.

A 28-year-old Ramapo man slammed his vehicle, a 2003 Honda Civic, into a Thruway guardrail at about 3 a.m., police said.

Authorities are investigating whether the driver was ejected from his vehicle. State Police investigator Skylar King said a second car was involved in the accident, but the driver has not been charged.

The victim may have exited his vehicle on his own and been struck by the second car, King added.

Police are could not confirm if weather or speed were factors in the crash.

This is sad, I remember crashing my car into a guide rail in NJ many years ago. I got out to look at the damage and another car came skidding towards my car that was pulled over. It had just rained and the road was very slippery. I guess you aren't thinking about getting hit right after an accident. Poor Nick, so young and his family has this grief to deal with.

speeds of 80mph any day anytime are not uncommon. i try to stay in the middle so i have 2 lanes to choose from if need be,and before the usual suspects come around i am not saying speeding was involved, nor am i an accident re constructionist or anything else you will accuse me of tic toc tic toc
