A man who struck a park car on Center Street in Pearl River early this morning has been charged with drunk driving, according to Orangetown police.
Police said Jorge Gustavo Paredes Bermejo was driving northbound on Center Street just before 12:10 a.m. when he drove into the parked car, doing extensive damage to both vehicles. During their investigation, police said, Bermejo was found to be intoxicated.
Bermejo was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters in Orangeburg, where police said he failed a chemical breath test for alcohol and was charged with driving while intoxicated. He faces a hearing in Orangetown Town Court on Jan. 23, 2013.
