Motorcyclist Killed in Collison Near Pearl River Hilton

Orangetown police investigating accident involving a motorcycle and a minivan this afternoon. The motorcycle rider was declared dead at Nyack Hospital.

A 44-year-old Pearl River man was killed in a motorcycle accident that occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday on Veteran's Memorial Drive near the entrance to the Pearl River Hilton.

The man was thrown from his motorcycle when he collided with  a van coming out of the hotel. The victim had no pulse and was not breathing when paramedics arrived. He was taken by the Pearl River Ambulance Corps to Nyack Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Orangetown Police are investigating the accident and will return to the scene to continue their work Tuesday. Officials have not released the name of the victim.

Traffic was not being allowed into the Pearl River Hilton as of 3:30 p.m., but traffic did continue in both directions on Veterans Memorial Drive through the police investigation.

Police stopped traffic at key intersections along the route to Nyack Hospital so the ambulance could quickly take the injured motorcyclist to the emergency room.
