Nanuet Man Charged With Disorderly Conduct, Drug Possession After Argument At Pearl River Bar

A Nanuet man was arrested on drug and disorderly conduct charges Saturday after he was involved in an argument with the staff of a Pearl River tavern and a police sergeant, according to .
Conor P. Gorman, 22, of 31 Cottage Place, was at , 49 E. Central Ave., Pearl River, at 2:07 a.m. Saturday when Orangetown police officers were conducting a routine check of the business to see if they staff was complying with state liquor laws. At the time, police said they found that Gorman had been deniend entrance to the tavern and he was arguing with the staff.
Police said Gorman was acting in a violent and threatening manner toward the bar staff and an Orangetown police sergeant. Police said Gorman was told told to leave the area several times but refused.

As a result, police said Gorman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct and taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg. Police said that when they searched Gorman they found several small bags of cocaine, one small bag of marijuana and several pills in his clothing.
Gorman was then hit with additional charges: Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Gorman was later arraigned by Orangetown Judge Richard Finning and released at on $1,000 bail pending an a Town Court hearing on Tuesday.

Police said they did not find any liquor law violations at the tavern.
