Ramapo Police identified Daniel K. Mercado, 25,.of Nanuet as the man who suffered fatal injuries when his motorcycle crashed in Chestnut Ridge early Sunday morning.
Officials say Mercado lost control of his 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle while riding north on North Highland Avenue and crashed into the property at 302 North Highland Ave. Residents in the area came out to help until officers from the Ramapo and Orangetown Police Departments arrived to take over Mercado's emergency medical care. Ramapo Police had received the call about the crash at approximately 3:28 a.m.
Faist Volunteer Ambulance took Mercado to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police released his name after his family was notified.
