New Englanders Found in Rest Area Face Drug Charges

On March 26, NY state police received a report of a tractor-trailer with no trailer plate parked in the Sloatsburg Service Area of I-87 in Rockland County.  

Troopers located the truck and began interviewing the two occupants. They could see a marijuana pipe, according to the police report. The driver, Matthew R. Henrikson, 44, Warner, NH and his passenger Geary M. Bonville, 32, of Easton, ME were arrested.

Investigating, troopers located more than 16 grams of crystal meth and more than 4 ounces of marijuana, police said.

Both men were transported to state police barracks in Haverstraw for processing. There, Bonville was found in possession of an additional gram of crystal meth on his person.  They were each charged with the following: 

  • Criminal Possession of a Stimulant in the 2nd Degree, Class A Felony 
  • Criminal Possession of a Stimulant with the Intent to Sell, Class B Felony 
  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 4th Degree, Class A Misdemeanor 
  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 

    Bonville faces an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Stimulant in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony.

    Henrikson and Bonville were arraigned in Spring Valley village Court and sent to Rockland County Jail pending further court action.
