NY/NJ Fireman's 100th Anniversary Parade Saturday
The parade steps off at 1 p.m. in Pearl River and ends in Montvale, NJ.
The New York and New Jersey Volunteer Fireman's Association will recognize its 100th Anniversary with a convention tonight and a parade from Pearl River to Montvale, NJ Saturday.
The convention begins 7:30 p.m. tonight at St. Joseph's Hall at 245 Main Street in Spring Valley.
The parade steps off from the corner of Central Ave. and John Street in Pearl River 1 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The route follows Central Ave. west to Route 304, then takes 304 south onto Kinderkamack Road in Montvalle and ends at the Montvale Firehouse. The reviewing stand will be at the state line.
Trophies will be awarded behind the Montvale Firehouse at 7:30 p.m.
History will be a key focal point of the parade, which begins with a Parade of History including antique apparatus.
The Orangetown Police announced they will post a parade enforcement detail which will include proactive DWI enforcement during the event.
They also released a list of parking restrictions and road closures.
Roads with parade participants and vehicle staging prior to the parade. (These will be open to traffic for local residents before and after the parade, but with heavy vehicle and pedestrian activity from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.):

- E. Washington Ave. from N. Henry St. to N. Main St.
- Roosevelt St. from E. Washington to Hunt Rd.
- Braunsdorf Rd. from Roosevelt St. to N. Middletown Road.
- N. John Street from East Central Ave. to E. Washington Ave.
- E. Washington Ave. from N. Henry St. to N. Main St.
- Roosevelt St. from E. Washington to Hunt Rd.
- Braunsdorf Rd. from Roosevelt St. to N. Middletown Road.
- E. Central Ave. from Henry St. to Main St.
- W. Central Ave. from Main St. to Serven St.
- Route 304 from E. Washington Ave. to the NY/NJ state line
- Jefferson Ae. from S. Main St. to Route 304
- W. Jefferson Ave. from Serven St. to Route 304
- W. Park Ae. from W. Washington Ave. to W. Central Ave.
- Railroad Ave. from W. Washington Ave. to W. Central Ave.
- Railroad Ave. from W. Washington Ave. to Central Ave.
- N. Main St. from Washington Ave. to Central Ave.
- N. William St. from E. Washington Ave. to E. Central Ave.
Handicapped parking will be in the municipal lot on S. William St. between Franklin Ave. and E. Jefferson Ave.
Parking meter will be bagged to restrict parking by 6 a.m. Saturday on the following areas

- W. Central Ave.
- N. Main St.
- N. William St.
