News from the Rockland DA: Sentencings in Drug, Larceny Cases
Heroin bust: Lyle Johnson, 48, of Utica, NY was sentenced by the Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge May 21 to one year in State Prison and one year post release supervision after pleading guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said on Dec. 2, 2013, after being stopped on I-87 Northbound in Clarkstown for a vehicle and traffic law violation, Johnson was found to be in possession of approximately 43.6 grams of heroin.
Jewelry thief: Lindsay Skerry, 27, of Haverstraw was sentenced by the
Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge May 21 to 1 1/2- 3 years in State Prison after pleading guilty to fourth-degree Grand Larceny as a second felony offender.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said December 3, 2013 at 3:50
p.m., at the Macy's store located at the Palisades Center Mall, the defendant
stole 14 pieces of jewelry valued at $1,300.00.
