NY/NJ Fireman's 100th Anniversary Parade Marches From Pearl River

The New York and New Jersey Volunteer Firemen's Association celebrated its 100th anniversary Saturday with a parade from Central Ave. in Pearl River to the Montvale (NJ) Firehouse.

The parade started near Pearl River Hook and Ladder rather than farther up the hill by John Street, which was the original plan, because they needed more room to line up all the vehicles from the volunteer fire departments in New York and New Jersey. Saturday's parade included current truck and antiques.

Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco rode in the Wells Fargo Bank stage coach. The bank was advertising its new branch, which will open in ShopRite of Pearl River July 15.
