Orangetown Police, Pearl River Schools Search For Dog That Bit Child

The Pearl River School District sent out a notice Thursday morning asking for help in finding the dog who bit an 11-year-old boy and the dog's owner.

The Pearl River School District sent out a request Thursday morning for help in finding a dog that bit an 11-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon on Orangeburg Road.

The incident happened between Noyes St. and Mapleshade Ave. at approximately 2:45 p.m. The the description of the dog's owner is a female with dark hair wearing a grey sweatshirt and khaki pants. The dog was described as brown as small-to-medium with brown and black fur.

The child would have to go through a series of rabies shots as a precaution unless the owner can be found and the dog's vaccination record can be checked. With any information, contact Orangetown Police Officer Fitzgibbons at (845) 359-3700 ext. 3180.
