PA Man Charged with DWI on Route 304

Driver stopped for driving without headlights in Pearl River at almost 2 a.m.

A Pennsylvania man who was driving without headlights on at 1:52 a.m. this morning on Route 304 in Pearl River has been charged with drunken driving, according to Orangetown Police.

Roy T. Quickel, 28, of 805 Maple St. North, Ephrata, PA, was stopped by police at the intersection of Route 304 and Hillside Avenue. Police said Quickel appeared intoxicated and was unsteady on his feet when he got out of his 2012 Chrysler 300.

Quickel, police said, failed field sobriety tests and later failed a chemical breath test for alcohol at Orangetown Police Headquarters in Orangeburg. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
