A crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway late Wednesday night left one person dead and several others injured.
At least three cars were involved in the crash in the southbound lanes between Exits 6 and 7 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Wednesday night. New York State Police were still investigating as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning and could only confirm that there was one fatality. They could not confirm the total number of injuries.
The Palisades Parkway was closed in both directions after the accident. The northbound lanes reopened at 8:25 a.m. Thursday morning.
Volunteers with the Pearl River and Orangeburg Fire Departments responded to the scene.
