Pearl River CVS Robbed by Armed Man

Orangetown Police: Gunman fired a shot into store's ceiling.

An armed man robbed the CVS in Pearl River, firing at least one shot into the ceiling before leaving early Monday morning, according to Orangetown Police.

The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds and dressed all in black, entered the CVS with a hand gun, announced it was a robbery and asked staff to take him to a safe.

He was told the staff could not open the safe. The staff gave the man an undetermined amount of cash from the registers and cigarettes before he fled out the front door at approximately 4:38 a.m.

Orangetown Police are investigating the incident. They were assisted on scene by the Rockland County Sheriff's Department Bureau of Criminal Identification. Orangetown Police asking anyone with information related to this incident to call the Orangetown Detective Bureau at 845-359-2121.
