Pearl River Man Charged With Driving While On Drugs After Hitting Sign, Guardrail

A Pearl River man is charged with driving while on drugs after he slammed into a street sign and a guardrail Friday night in Pearl River, according to Orangetown police.

Sean Tonner, 32, was driving westbound on Veterans Memorial Drive at about 9:42 a.m. when, police said, a town officer saw Tonner drive into a sign and a guardrail at the intersection with Blue Hill Road. Tonner was stopped by the town officer and he was then charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Tonner was arraigned in Orangetown Town Court in Orangeburg and ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City on $250 bail pending a March 13 hearing in Town Court.
