D.A.: 48-year-old man know the victim.
A 48-year-old Pearl River man has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury on charges he sexually abused a 3-year-old girl, according to Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe.
Zugibe said Fausto Ramiro Maldonado-Miranda, of 55 Town Line Road, knew the victim. He was arrested April 30 after an investigation by Orangetown police. Maldonado-Miranda is accused of predatory sexual assault, first-degree criminal sexual act, first degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Zugibe said that shortly after the assault the child told her mother what had happened, and the mother contacted police. Maldonado-Miranda is being held on $200,000 bail at the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City.
