Police: LPN Had Heroin, Pills in Greenwood Lake Apartment

A woman working at an Orange County nursing home is accused of possessing controlled substances, including heroin and prescription narcotics, with intent to sell them.

Warwick police said Lisa M. Ferreri, 34, and David Santora, 41, were found in their Greenwood Lake apartment with 11 wax paper envelopes believed to contain heroin, as well as 6 alprazolam pills and two oxycodone pills. They were also found to be in possession of three hypodermic syringes and needles.

Ferreri is a licensed practical nurse employed by Valley View Nursing Home, which is county-owned and -operated.

“This case again demonstrates that the abuse of street drugs is related to the abuse of prescription narcotics," Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler said in a press release. "My office will investigate how the defendants came to be in possession of the narcotics recovered in this case. We will hold accountable any healthcare workers who abuse their positions to gain access to illicit substances.”
