A jeep in Pearl River was reported missing Thursday morning, but Orangetown Police say the vehicle may not have been stolen -- and instead is part of a family dispute.
A Pearl River resident told authorities at about 7 a.m. that her 2012 Jeep Compass was missing from Somerset Drive. Police said there was no broken glass at the scene.
"It is suspected that the woman is having ongoing issues with her father, and he has a key," said Sgt. Gerald Bottari. "He may have taken it."
Botarri said police have been unable to contact the father, and have since filed the report as a possible stolen vehicle.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
