Police: Woman Charged In Theft At ShopRite

Chestnut Ridge resident accused of petty larceny.

A Chestnut Ridge woman is accused of stealing $102.50 worth of groceries from a Pearl River supermarket, according to Orangetown police.

Police said Desiree C. Boyle, 36, 0f 212 Humphrey Drive was charged with petty larceny at about 2:42 p.m. on Saturday in connection with an incident at the ShopRite at 26 N. Middletown Road. Police said Boyle paid for a few items at the supermarket, but is accused of having $102.50 worth of items hidden in resuable shopping bags and leaving the store without paying for those items.

Boyle was released by police pending a June 14 hearing in Orangetown Town Court in Orangeburg.
