St. Margaret 5th Graders Graduate DARE Program

St. Margaret School in Pearl River honored 5th-grade students who graduated from the 10-week DARE program run by Orangetown Police Officer Scott Silva.

The students performed skits relating to subjects discussed in the progrma, such as substance abuse and peer pressure.

District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe, Orangetown Town Clerk Charlotte Madigan, Silva, St. Margaret Principal Carolyn Slattery and St. Margaret Church Pastor Msgr. John O'Keefe addressed the students during the graduation.

5th Grade students from St. Margaret School in Pearl River, New York recently participated in their DARE graduation.  They spent the past 10 weeks preparing with their DARE Officer, Scott Silva, from the Orangetown Police Department.  As part of their graduation ceremony, the students performed skits about the various ways to avoid using substances and dealing with peer pressure.  Students were addressed by District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe, Town Clerk, Charlotte Madigan, Officer Silva, Principal, Mrs. Carolyn Slattery and Pastor, Msgr. Jack O'Keefe.

The class received DARE T-shirts and certificates of achievement.
