Suspended Corrections Officer's Orangeburg Residence Searched

The search warrant was executed Wednesday at the Orangeburg residence of suspended Rockland County Corrections Officer Daniel Whittaker Wednesday.

The Rockland County REACT Team (SWAT) executed a search warrant at the home of suspended Rockland County Sheriff's Corrections Officer Daniel Whittaker at 5A Blue Hill Commons in Orangeburg Wednesday.

The REACT Team secured the apartment and the Rockland County Bomb Squad was brought in to determine if it was safe for police to open a safe in the apartment.

Rifles and other items were taken into custody. Whittaker was interviewed and released. He has not been charged as of Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department, Whittaker has been suspended for approximately two years due to a personnel matter and ongoing disciplinary investigation. He is also the subject of an ongoing New York City Police Department case. There may be a connection to Aaron Greene and Mogan Gliedman, both recently arrested by the NYPD for possession of explosives. Greene and Whittaker reportedly were friends growing up in Rockland County.

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend
