The volunteers had a display of potential causes of electrical fires at home and offered pamphlets with information to help prepare for a wide variety of disasters. They also brought a "smoke house."

"In a smoke house, we teach you what it's like in a smoky room," Hunt said. "How to get out. You've got to have two ways out of a smoky room in a fire. If you can't use the front door, so you've got to have a back door or a window."
