Valley Cottage Woman Charged with DWI After Accident in Pearl River

Police: Driver struck parked car on East Central Avenue.

A Valley Cottage woman was charged with drunken driving after an accident Sunday night on East Central Avenue in Pearl River, according to Orangetown police.

Pamela G. Nee, 45, of 937 Sierra Vista Lane, Valley Cottage, was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta at 8:15 p.m. when she drove into the rear of a parked Honda Civic in front of 75 E. Central Ave. in Pearl River, police said.

Town officers investigating the accident found that Nee was intoxicated and had an open 750 ml. bottle of Jagermeister liqueur at the time, police said.

During the investigation, police said Nee refused to take a field sobriety test and later at Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg she refused to submit to a chemical breath test for alcohol.

Nee was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and refusal to take the chemical test for alcohol, a violation. She was released to a family member pending a Sept. 12 hearing in Orangetown Town Court in Orangeburg.
