Visiting Hours are April 12, 13 for James Kennedy
Mr. Kennedy died after being hit by a bus April 8 while crossing the street.
James Kennedy, 79, of Pearl River, died April 9, 2014 with family by his side.
Longtime Bronx resident born May 3, 1934 in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland to the late Jack & Bridie Kennedy. Retired from marble industry, Local 7, and Mt. Saint Vincent College. He was a veteran of the US Army (Korean War) & a longtime member of the AOH-Bronx division 7.
He is predeceased by brothers Patrick & Daniel & sister Sheila Hogan.
James is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 57 years, Ellen (Nell), cherished children John (Ann), Jim (Frances) & Joan (Jimmy) Corrigan. Beloved grandchildren Jimmy, Christine, Meghan, John & Caileen, loving brother of Jackie, Nora (Condon) and Con & numerous nieces & nephews here & in Ireland.
Visiting Saturday & Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 at Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home, 34 N. Summit St., Pearl River.
Funeral Mass Monday St. Aedans Church 10 am, burial to follow St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Calvary Hospital in James' name.
