White Plains Honors 6-Year-Old Hero
Garv Agarwal helped quickly bring aid to his mother who was suffering from a seizure by calling 911 on July 3.
When 6-year-old Garv Agarwal saw his mother having a seizure, he remembered what he was taught at a West Harrison pre-school to do during an emergency, call 911.
Garv called 911 around 4:10 p.m. on July 3 and was guided through the situation by Officer Edmund Kearny. Within minutes White Plains Police Officer Jeff Park arrived at the Lake Street home along with EMS to aid Kirti Agarwal and bring her to White Plains Hospital.
The White Plains Department of Public Safety and White Plains Mayor Tom Roach honored Garv, who just finished kindergarten at Church Street Elementary School in White Plains, Friday morning with a certificate of good conduct and junior police officer’s badge.
