Day Addresses Orangetown Republicans

The Orangetown Republican Committee passed a motion supporting Ed Day in his run for Rockland County Executive at its meeting Thursday night.

Rockland County Legislator Ed Day spoke about what he needs to win the race for County Executive at the Orangetown Republican Committee meeting Thursday in Pearl River.

"This is going to be a crossroads election for this county," Day said. "Every one of you, each of you, has to be engaged going forward. That's the only way we're going to win. Regardless of what is thrown up in front of us, whatever the numbers are, we are going to win this campaign. All I need to get that done is the support of dedicated, motivated, believing individuals such as yourselves."

The Orangetown Republicans passed a motion Thursday supporting Day, who is the lone Republican running for County Executive. The other four candidates in the race are Democrats.

Day focused heavily on getting out the vote during his remarks Thursday.

"We all see what the issues are," Day said. "This is not one to sit home on. This is not one to think about. This is one to make sure every one of your neighbors understands the issues that are facing this county.
