Orangetown Open House

Orangetown's Open House is set for Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year's theme is Community Building: Government and Citizens Working in Partnership.


The open house includes:



  • Tours of the police department, sewer treatment plant and historical exhibits in the town hall.

  • Demonstrations of highway and emergency services equipment.

  • Q&A session about the Orangetown budget and services for the public.


The public can meet town staff and volunteers involved in the emegency services, land use boards, parks and other committees. This is also an opportunity to learn how to get involved and to use town services.

Blue Hil Golf Course pros will be on hand to do some swing doctoring. 


Many non-profit organizations will send representatives. Emergency service agencies and local fire districts will also participate. The open house will extend beyond the town hall to several nearby sites and there will be outdoor activities and exhibits for children.

At 2 p.m., there will be a memorial service held in the Orangtown Town Hall lobby commemorating the sacrifice of deceased police officers Thomas Kennedy, Michael Reedy, Waverly Brown and Sergeant Edward O'Grady.
