Orangetown Councilmen Denis Troy, Tom Morr and Paul Valentine, Town Justice Patrick Loftus and Highway Superintendent Jim Dean will be among the celebrity waiters Tuesday, April 24 at Del Arte's Italian Cooking Class.
The event, which begins at 7 p.m. at Del Arte's Restaurant in Orangeburg, is a fundraiser for the Brest Buddies Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Research. The Brest Buddies are a group of women from Rockland County who work to help find a cure for breast cancer.
In addition to the cooking lesson, the evening will include a meal, wine tasting and the singing of Jim Russell.
The wine will be courtesy of J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines, which began the Touching Lives program three year ago in memory of Carol Waldorf Lohr, the late wife of founder Jerry Lohr. Carol Lohr passed away in 2008 due to complications related to breast cancer.
In 2010, the Lohr family began donated $2 for every bottle of their J.Lohr Carol's Vineyard Sauvignon Blacn and Cabernet Sauvignon to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Tickets cost $55. For reservations, contact Eileen Murph at (845) 398-8173.
