Loftus Announces Candidacy for Orangetown Town Justice

Pearl River Attorney Patrick J. Loftus, a former Rockland County Assistant District Attorney, is running for Town Justice in Orangetown Town Court.

Attorney Patrick J. Loftus of Pearl River will run for Town Court Judge in Orangetown.

The 1990 Washington & Lee School of Law graduate has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1990. He was an Assistant District Attorney for Rockland County from 1990-95. Since 1995, he has been a partner at Freeman & Loftus RLLP, focusing on Trusts & Estate Law, Estate Planning, Elder Law, Real Estate, Banking and Criminal Law. He also served as an Assistant Town Attorney for Orangetown in 2006 and 2007.

Loftus has worked as an adjunct Professor of Business Administration at St. Thomas of Acquinas College since 1997.

Loftus was a member of the Meals-on-Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland County, Inc. board of Directors from 1999-2004, then Chariman of the Board for 2004 and 2005. He is a  member of the Society of Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rockland County, Division 3 and the Orangetown Republican Committee.

“In addition to proper legal training, it is essential for judicial candidates to have a strong background in volunteering to serve others, such as those in need in the community,” Patrick said through a press release. “As a Town Judge, I will use my training and experiences over the past twenty plus years as a prosecutor and practicing attorney to render fair and independent decisions.  The People of Orangetown want the continuing confidence of knowing that they have Judges they can rely upon to uphold the integrity of the law, in firm, fair and efficient manner.”
