Orangetown Approved 6-Year Union Deal

The Orangetown Council voted unanimously to approve a new six-year contract with the Civil Service Employees Association during Tuesday's regular meeting at town hall,

The CSEA members had been without a contract since 2010. The new deal is retroactive to 2011 and calls for pay increases of 2.35 percent for 2913, 2.46 percent for 2014 and 2.5 for 2015 and 2016. There are no increases for 2011 and 2012.

"It was a compromise," Councilman Paul Valentine said. "We both walked away a little aggravated, which means it worked out well. The CSEA gave a little and the town gave a little."
