Orangetown Closer to New Vendor for Blue Hill Cafe

The Orangetown Town Board is conducting interviews of candidates to take over The Blue Hill Golf Course restaurant and bar

The Orangetown Town Board may be approving a new vendor for the Blue Hill Golf Course restaurant and bar as early as next week.

Councilman Denis Troy announced at Tuesday's board workshop that the board will be conducting interviews with three candidates.

"Hopefully as a board, and maybe with one or two members of the golf committee, we will meet with the three (candidates) and get a resolution next week," Troy said. "We need to get somebody in there.

"On the first day in, they will not up and going. It's going to take at least a week or two to get the restaurant in shape and they have to get permits from the health department. Getting a liquor permit might take longer."

The board approved a settlement with Back Nine LLC April 5, removing them as the vendor as of April 11.
