Orangetown Discussing Broadcres Private Management Search

The Orangetown Council put off a discussion of the search for possible private management to take over Broadacres Golf Course during its workshop meeting Aug. 6 because Councilman Tom Diviny was unable to attend due to a death in his family.

Diviny pushed for the council to exhaust all options before closing the golf course and played a key role in putting together the request for proposal that went out earlier this year.

The discussion of the Broadacres RFP will be back on the agenda when the Orangetown Council meets for a workshop at approximately 8 p.m., in town hall, depending on when the 7 p.m. police commission ends.

The full agenda and supporting materials for Tuesday's workshop can be found through the Orangetown website here

The workshop is also expected to include discussion of the ongoing discussion of library budgets in Orangetown and items related to the construction of a sidewalks, curbs and drainage along Route 340 from Route 303 to the Venture Living Center.
