Pearl River: ShopRite, 7-11 Open, Most Stores Closed

Maria's Deli and Mel's Army-Navy Center are also among the businesses in Pearl River that were open Tuesday morning; Pearl River Library open until 7 p.m.

Pearl River continues to battle power outages in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but some local businesses were open Tuesday morning.

ShopRite of Pearl River, the 7-Eleven on Middletown Road, Maria's Deli on Central Avenue and Mel's Army-Navy Center opened Tuesday morning, while CVS was without power and closed.

The Pearl River Library opened this afternoon and will be open until 7 p.m. If you need to charge your cell phone or laptop, or need to use the wi-fi, stop by the library.

There are trees and power lines down in Pearl River and some street lights are still out. The Orangetown Town Hall in Orangeburg has power, but the street light right in front of the building is out.

Attached are images from around town. Add your pictures and updates of what is open and what is not to this report and continue to check back with Patch for more on the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
