Pearl River Week in Review: Back to School Prep
Pearl River Schools prepared for the first day of class and Orangetown continues to work on long-range plans for RPC and its 2012-budget a town Director of Finance Charlie Richardson leaves.
Pearl River Superintendent Dr. John Morgano Announced that district is one of the first in the county to have its plan for implementing Annual Professional Performance Reviews (APPR) approved by the state. This was just part of a busy week of preparation for the opening of school in Pearl River Sept. 5.
- The Pearl River Board of Education approved the appointment of former Felix Festa Middle School teacher Andrew Trust as the new assistant principal at Pearl River High School.
- The Pearl River School District reminded parents and students that Pearl River Middle School will have a new bell schedule for 2012-13, with the day starting and ending 15 minutes earlier than last year.
- The administration provided updates on the preparation for the start of classes Sept. 5, including the four new classrooms in the high school, the implementation of ImPACT testing for varsity and junior varsity athletes and the cleanup from two utility poles that fell in the Pearl River High School parking lot Aug. 27.

- Orangetown's plans for the Rockland Psych Center property dominated much of Tuesday's town board meeting, which included a presentation from Wilson-Elser. The town board also approved the clean up of two properties in town with code violations, for which the town will directly charge the owners.
- State Sen. David Carlucci hosted a at RCC.
