Thanksgiving Schedules You Need to Know

Library

Pearl River Public library closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 and is closed Thursday, Nov. 24.  The library reopens with a normal schedule Friday.

Rockland County

County departments are open Wednesday, closed Thursday and open for a full day on Friday.  Some departments may choose to close their offices early on Wednesday.

Town of Orangetown

Town offices are closed Thursday and Friday.

Pearl River Schools

There is no school on Thursday or Friday.

Public Transit

The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation released the following schedules for Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 25.

Wednesday

• Transport of Rockland (TOR), TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx), TRIPS paratransit, Spring

Valley Jitney and Clarkstown Mini-Trans buses will operate normal weekday schedules.

• Extra TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx) buses will operate from Tarrytown Rail Station on normal afternoon schedules in anticipation of early rush hour passengers.

• Coach USA Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan Lines) will offer earlier Rockland-bound express buses from Port Authority bus terminal. Express Route #45 will begin service at 1:30 pm, Route #47 at 2:15 pm and Route #49 at 2:00 pm.

• Coach USA (Exit 14) Express buses will operate modified schedules. Call (800) 631-8405.

• Metro-North trains will operate some early getaway trains and posted a Special Thanksgiving Weekend schedule.

• NJ Transit’s Main/Bergen Line trains will operate normal weekday schedules.

• NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley Line will operate an extra afternoon train from Penn Station at 2:37 pm and Hoboken at 2:51 pm. The 5:55 p.m. train from Hoboken will be cancelled. Call (973) 275-5555 or go to www.njtransit.com for schedule information.

• The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate an early rush hour connection to the Hudson

Line train departing Grand Central Terminal at 2:54 pm.

Thanksgiving Day

• TOR buses will operate Sunday schedules. No TOR Routes #94, #95 and #97 or TOR #91 service to New City, Yeager Health Center or Helen Hayes Hospital will operate.

• No service on the TAPPAN ZEExpress, Coach USA (Exit 14) Express, Clarkstown Mini-Trans, Spring Valley Jitney buses or the Haverstraw Ossining Ferry.

• TRIPS paratransit buses will operate ADA service ONLY.

• Coach USA‘s Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan) buses and Coach USA’s Shortline buses will operate Sunday schedules.

• Monsey Trails buses will operate reduced schedules. Call (845) 510-5100.

• Metro-North Hudson Line trains will operate a Sunday schedule, plus special morning service to the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Call (212) 532-4900 or go to www.mta.info for schedule information.

• Metro-North Port Jervis Line trains will operate modified weekend schedules, with bus service substituting for Port Jervis Line trains between Ramsey and Harriman due to track repairs. Call (212) 532-4900.

• NJ Transit trains on the Main/Bergen Line and Pascack Valley Line will operate a weekend schedule. Call (973) 275-5555.

Friday

• TOR, Clarkstown Mini-Trans and Spring Valley Jitney buses will operate normal weekday

schedules.

• TAPPAN ZEExpress buses will operate a weekday schedule, adjusting departure times

from Tarrytown Rail Station to coordinate with Metro-North trains running a modified schedule.

• TRIPS paratransit buses will operate ADA service only.

• Coach USA’s Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan) buses will operate modified Saturday schedules on local routes and fewer trips on express routes. Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan) Route #49 buses will not pick up on Route 59 at the Nanuet Mall or at Exit 14 Park & Ride lot. Passengers for those routes can meet combined #49 and #47 service at the Smith Street Park & Ride lot or the South Middletown Road Park & Ride lot. Express Route #45 will operate from Mt. • NJ Transit’s Pascack Valley Line trains will operate normal schedules, plus an early

getaway train departing Penn Station at 2:33 pm and from Hoboken at 2:51 pm.

• NJ Transit’s Main/Bergen Line and Metro-North’s Port Jervis Line trains will operate
