What Do You Think of Orangetown's Efforts To Develop Local Businesses?

The Orangetown Town Board has put a large focus on bringing new business and keeping those that are already there.

Business development has been a major focuse for the Orangetown Town Board.

When Orangetown Town Supervisor Paul Whalen held a fundraiser to kick off his re-election campaign, he held it at the AquaTerra Grill specifically so his guests could look out the window and see Pfizer's Pearl River campus because he wanted to focus on the importance of keeping the company there.

The town also put a good deal of focus into a land swap with Orange & Rockland to help support O&R's substation and transmission line project, which gained state approval when Gov. Cuomo signed the legislation into law May 17. An important selling point for that deal was keeping Verizon Wireless in town.
