Bond Honored by County School Board Association

Pearl River Board of Education member Bruce Bond was inducted into the Rockland County School Board Association Hall of Fame in June. He got his award at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.

The Rockland County School Board Association Inducted Pearl River's Bruce Bond into its Hall of Fame June 14.

When they honored Bond at their awards dinner earlier this year, the plaque intended for him was broken. It is in the shape of New York, but Long Island was broken off.

"I told them it was ok. I don't like Long Island that much," Bond joked.

Burrell also complimented the Pearl River Board of Education as a whole.

"I do have to say, as an individual who sees boards all over the county, I have to commend the Pearl River board for the consistency that is represented here, the attention to detail and attention to business that is represented here," Burrell said. "It may be something you and this community accept as just reality. That's what you have. Look around the state nad look around the county. That's not what every taxpayer gets."
