Daily Sports Digest: Junior All-Stars Stay Alive Over Weekend

The Pearl River Little League Juniors baseball all-stars won two games in the loser’s bracket over the weekend to stay in the District 18 tournament.
Pearl River beat West Nyack 5-4 on Saturday and advanced further thanks to an offensive explosion on Sunday, beating Nanuet 21-5. Pearl River will play Wednesday at Veterans Park in Stony Point, but won’t know the opponent until after tonight.
- The 10-11 all-stars won its first two games of the District 18 tournament as well over the weekend. Pearl River beat Haverstraw, 2-1, on Saturday and beat Nanuet, 3-0, on Sunday. Pearl River will play West Nyack Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at Cesca Field in West Nyack.
- The Pearl River Majors Division all-stars run came to an end over the weekend thanks to a 7-1 loss to Nyack. It was Pearl River’s second loss of the tournament after dropping a second round game to Nanuet last week.
