With yesterday off and the for other Pearl River teams, Pirate Nation had all day to look forward to this afternoon's football game, set for a 3 p.m. start at Pearl River.
After an early exit from last year’s playoffs the Rye Garnets are hoping for a long run in this year’s second season. Ever since the team started 0-3 the Garnets have been a dominating force that has rattled off four straight wins behind freshman quarterback Andrew Livingston.

While Rye is on the upswing Pearl River is the higher seed and just took their against defending state Class C champ Bronxville. Pearl River lacks Rye's playoff experience, but the Pirates do have the home-field advantage.

The Pearl River boys soccer team, seeded second in Class A, will open the playoffs 3 p.m. Friday against the winner of today's game between Walter Panas and Poughkeepsie. That is a change from the initial pairings.
The volleyball team, a No. 12 seed, will play at JFK Friday. The Pirates' field hockey team, seeded No. 7, will host Walter Panas 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Pearl River girls soccer team will find out its playoff seeding and schedule today.
Albertus Magnus will hit the road on Friday as the Falcon soccer team is the No. 11 seed at No. 6 Briarcliff. Albertus Magnus will also host a first-round volleyball matchup on Friday as the No. 5 seed Falcons welcome in No. 12 Woodland.
