Dan Sullivan Foundation Names First Scholarship Winners

John Lee Thompson, Sarah Russell and Arnelle Dandridge are recipients of Dan Sullivan Foundation Scholarships.

The Dan Sullivan Foundation recently announced its three scholarship recipients.

The foundation's first two scholarships went to Sarah Russell and Arnelle Dandridge of Albertus Magnus High School. Nanuet High School student John Lee Thompson also received aid for his studies.

"His self dtermination and dedication towards achieving his goals exemplify exactly how Dan Sullivan lived his life. We are honored to provide him with a scholarship to help him continue down his road of success."

Thompson wrote the following thank you.

Hi Mr. Sullivan,

My mom and I have gone over the day and your touching speech and the honor  the Sullivan Foundation has given me.  I didn’t get a chance to see you after the ceremony but wanted to let you know how appreciative I am and how much this means to me.  I had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Sullivan one-on-one afterward and I will never forget that moment or the memory of Mr. Sullivan and what a special person he was.  I can promise you today that his memory will be kept alive in my heart and mind and in that of my family.

Thank you again for making today so special.

 John Thompson

The Dan Sullivan Foundation was formed earlier this year in memory of Pearl River native Dan Sullivan, who passed away Oct. 31, 2011. Sullivan was an Albertus Magnus alum who was a standout athlete there and at Dominican College. The foundation's website is http://www.dansullivanfoundation.com/
