Four individuals will speak from their personal experience. One lost her father many years ago and will speak about what the spring holidays and rituals were like for her in the months after he died suddenly.  Another speaker lost her son about 15 years ago. She will highlight the “long and changing journey” in general and specifically during the spring. Two speakers lost their loved ones within the last few years. One lost her mother and the other lost her husband. Both are mothers and have young children who were impacted greatly by these losses. They will talk about the challenges of coping when the loss is new and also about how Healing Hearts, the United Hospice of Rockland children’s bereavement program was a valuable resource to them.
