Five Things You Need to Know About Pearl River Schools This Week

More budget news, two extra days in the classroom for the Pearl River School District and a parent information night at St. Margaret School are on the agenda for the Pearl River Schools this week.

Snow Make-Up Days

The Pearl River School District's Spring Break will start two days late due to this winter's snow. Classes will be held Thursday April 14 and Friday April 15 to make up for days lost to the winter weather, so the break will run from April 16-25.

Pearl River Board of Education Meeting Tonight

The Pearl River Board of Education meeting 7:30 p.m. tonight at Pirate Cove in the high school will include first readings of 15 board policies on issues ranging from the confidentiality of Individualized Education Programs to media relations and physical education. Pearl River Pre-Budget Hearing

The Pearl River Board of Education will hold a pre-budget hearing and pre-budget adoption after the regular board meeting tonight. There will be another hearing on the budget May 5, with the budget vote and school board elections held May 17.

April 18 Deadline For the Ballot

Monday April 18 is the deadline for citizen petitions to put items on the May 17 ballot and for candidates for the Board of Education to submit their petitions. There will be one spot on the board available this year, the one currently held by Thomas DePrisco, who will be running to keep it.

St. Margaret School Holds Parent Information Night

The St. Margaret School in Pearl River will hold an information night for its program for grades five through eight 7 p.m. Thursday in the school's music room. More information is available here.
