The Muddy Creek Fair is more than just the Franklin Aveneu Elementary School PTA's biggest fundraiser. It is a tradition in the community.

"It's been there forever," said Jen Lierow, co-president of the Franklin Avenue PTA. "You don't ever remember not having it. You know Muddy Creek is going to be there. It's our biggest fundraiser."

The Franklin Avenue PTA committee chaired by Eileen Maher and Trish Harvey helped organize the event, which will be held at Franklin Avenue Elementary School Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"It is open to the community," Lierow said. "It is not just a Franklin Avenue event. The kids know. All there friends are there. It brings all three elementary schools. They all meet up at Muddy Creek. Teachers come with their kids."

There are carnival games, with every child taking home a prize. Lierow said the prizes have improved over the years. There will also be food and drinks.
