Lakeland Ends Pearl River Field Hockey's Season

Two-time defending state champion Lakeland defeated Pearl River, 9-0, in a Section 1 Class B quarterfinal game Wednesday at Lakeland.

Pearl River's run through the Section 1 Class B field hockey playoffs came to an abrupt end Wednesday with a 9-0 loss at two-time defending state champion Lakeland in the quarterfinals.

"Adrienne Ammirati had 24 saves and along with the defense, played an amazing game," Pearl River Coach Shane Carlacci said.

Pearl River finished the season 7-7-3.
