Pearl River Athletes Compete in State Track Meet

Freshman Meghan Keetley earned the highest finish by a Pearl River athlete at the New York State championship indoor track meet by taking sixth in the 1500-Meter Race Walk.

Pearl River freshman Meghan Keetley completed the 1500-Meter Race Walk in 7:15.67 to take sixth place at the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field championships Saturday in Cornell University's Barton Hall.

Keetley's performance gave her the highest finish among Pearl River athletes at the event. Teammate Caitlin Lardaro, a junior, was seventh in in the same event in 7:20.50. Chaneille Opatovsky of Shoreham W.R. won in 6:51.59.

In the boys competition, Pearl River junior Kieran Brennan finished 15th in the 1000-Meter Run in 2:37.53. Jesse Garn of Marcellus won the race in 2:29.28.

Pearl River senior Chris Spadaccini tied for 17th in the pole vault with a height of 12-06. State record holder Jordan Yamoah, a senior at Arlington, won with a height of 15-00.0.
