Pearl River School Board to Hear Proposed 2012-13 Budget

Tuesday's Pearl River Board of Education meeting will start at 8 p.m., a half hour later than the previously-planned start time. The agenda includes a budget proposal for 2012-13.

Pearl River School District Director of Operations Quinton Van Wynen is presenting a 2012-13 budget proposal as part of Tuesday's board of education meeting, set for 8 p.m. in the administration building on Crooked Hill Road.

The meeting's start time was pushed back half an hour to avoid a conflict with the English Honor Society Induction Ceremony scheduled for 7 p.m. in Pirate Cove at the High School.

Van Wynen's proposed follows information presented over the last three school board meetings and includes a 2.97% tax increase for homestead properties and 0.95% for non-homestead properties. The tax levy increase is 2.15%, meeting the state-mandated cap. This includes the use of $943,600 in reserve funds.
