Pearl River Education Foundation Gala Friday

The newly-formed Pearl River Education Foundation will hold a benefit gala 8 p.m. Friday at the Pearl River Elks Club in Nanuet.

The Pearl River Education Foundation formed earlier this year with the goal of raising money to finance educational programs in Pearl River schools that are not covered by the district's budget.

The foundation will hold its first fundraising event.

The event will feature live peformances by the Noyes and music by PJ the DJ. The $100 cost per person also includes buffet, beer, wine and soda. There will be a silent auction and raffles as part of the evening.

Pearl River Board of Education Vice President Jackie Curtiss, a member of the foundation's board, said they had approximately 150 people set to attend at Tuesday night's school board meeting and they have 15 items for the auction.

"It should be a lot of fun," Curtiss said.
