Pearl River High School's Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society welcomed 28 new members and re-inducted 24 more Tuesday in Pirate Cove.
Math Honor Society Advisor Kelly Lawrence, Pearl River Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Morgano and Pearl River High School Assistant Principal Andrwe Trust spoke at the ceremony.
"You should be proud of yourselves for all of your hard work," Morgano said to the students. "Remember to thank your teachers and parents because you did not get here without their efforts. Tonight's recognition is but one step in your journey in pursuit of excellence and in thinking logically and rationally. Congratulations. I know you will continue to make us proud."
The students maintained a grade of 90 or higher in class or on Regents Exams in Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II/Trigonometry.
